Hello!
Come on in!
I’m Carmen
–though I like to think of myself as a soul revitalizer
passionate about partnering with perseverant women
searching for self-acceptance.
Mi historia.
I discovered I could make a career out of this fascinating field after taking a quiz in the seventh grade. Seeing the results felt intriguing and heartwarming. It reminds me of the eagerness and gratification I felt when taking quizzes from Cosmopolitan (e.g., learning what kind of friend I was.)
For as long as I can remember, my friends considered me the go-to friend they confided in, the consistent person with others' backs, and a loyal friend (I still am). Being highly empathetic came naturally to me, and although I didn't realize it then, I was an old soul.
Being a therapist is more than an occupation to me; it is a calling. However, I never thought I would get to the point where that deep-seated, ardent, burning fire I felt for this profession would have converted into a dim light only visible at a distance.
Like you, I was faced with a hard decision whether to become paralyzed or take courage amid adversity. Although this season of my life was painful and disheartening, I now know what it means to pursue inner healing. I acknowledge what a privilege it is to hold space for others to do the same.
As a trauma specialist, I know that trusting others is difficult. At the same time, I understand that this very relationship is healing. In our work together, we will uncover your limiting beliefs, sit with your tender parts and commence this turning-compassion-inward path.
Life is about to turn around for you.
The empaths I work with are remarkably like you.
High-achieving, hard-working, and making a positive impact in the lives of many.
As an empath, you've become an expert at caring for others at your own expense. This need to please people while avoiding disappointing others is exhausting. It’s hard for you to recognize that you truly ARE an amazing woman.
Although you’ve told yourself that you can just implement the same coping skills you encourage your clients to use, your solution has been to disconnect, numb out and downplay.
You've been in therapy before, but they haven't been able to offer you a solution that works because you need someone who is experienced whom you could take your professional hat off.
Another being that can see into the depths of your soul, sit with you in your pain and help make sense of the complexities of life.
